Personal Branding Becomes the Standard
There are a few facts that we can probably all agree on...during the first half of 2020 the majority of the world had an opportunity to reflect. Business leaders had to adapt to the circumstances and find a new way of operating.
As time elapsed remote working has become a stable function where previously it was for the chosen few. Those businesses fortunate to survive have had to come to terms with these changes and it has pushed them commercially to analyse their current infrastructure. Boardroom’s across the UK (and beyond) are now discussing the need (or lack thereof) for large business premises and redefining what’s possible with fewer resources.
In the mid to long term, this sadly may mean some roles become redundant, but I suspect that CEOs, MDs and founders still require your skills but not full time. Now at this point, the sceptics and doomsayers are up in arms. The smart cookies, the forward thinkers and entrepreneurs see excitement and opportunity.
Let’s face it work has been expanding to fill the day for decades. Meetings upon meetings, half of which you contributed less than 10%, unnecessary travel and weakness from the leadership team for change, “because we’ve always done it that way”.
Welcome to the new world. A world where you can work full-time if you want but not just for one organisation, possibly two or three. How thrilling to be able to use your specialism and build a portfolio of revenue streams.
The new economy will see heart alignment between you and your chosen place of work. You’ll be selecting the right cultural and value-based organisation for you, and equally, your prospective employer will be doing similar.
To reach the new world you’re going to need to stand out. The CV has overstayed its welcome and doesn’t represent you in your best light. You're going to need a world-class personal brand that represents you as a trading asset. You can become the super consultant working 3 days a week, 10 months of the year.
Why create a world-class personal brand? Because you can. The world of work has changed and if you want to join the masses then wait around and watch it happen around you.
If you want to lead the way then act now, book a complimentary consultation and learn how.
